5 minute makeup-how to do it in 5 minutes
Yes you can do your makeup in only 5 minutes it just takes practice and multi-tasking. If you are in a hurry or are just plain lazy in the AM but you still want to look somewhat glamorous then here's how you do it:
1. Start with clean skin (obviously)
2. If you use an eyecream put that on now.
3. Mix a pea size dollup of your moisturizer with pea size dollop of your foundation, it can be liquid cream, mousse ect just as long as its not a powder foundation. Apply it to the back of your hand and mix it with a sponge or foundation brush blending it really well onto your face and neck, It will brighten your face while lightly concealing any blemishes or redness as well as give you a nice fresh dewy look. If you have serious blemishes that need additional coverage, you can lightly dab on a concealer after you apply your moisturizer/foundation mix. If you prefer a powder or mineral powder foundation then just moisturize clean skin and apply your powder with a fluffy powder brush to your face, bringing it downward blending onto the neck.
3. curl your lashes and apply one or two coats of black mascara, black will always be more intense and instantly add glam to tired and or puffy eyes. Brown and colored mascaras will suffice, its better than not using mascara at all but if you stick with black it will eliminate the need for eyeliner, which in turn will save you even more time.
4. Grab your favorite bronzer or peach, neutral toned blush and sweep across the apples of your cheeks. Neutrals are ideal here because they look great on most skin tones and create a pretty flushed look rather than an over done pink hue.
5. Take your favorite eyeshadow brush and apply the same bronzer or blush that you just dusted over your apples and apply that across your entire lid just below the brow bone. This will accentuate your eyes with minimal color and effort.
6. Apply a neutral toned lip gloss or tinted balm to bare lips, we are skipping the lipliner today. If all this sounds too natural for you makeup divas out there, pick a gloss with minimal color but high shine and or sparkle. I usually will not leave the house without my false lashes and perfectly contoured cheeks and eyes but there are times when I am truly pressed for time and need to get ready in 5 minutes and by adding a fun sparkle to my lips makes me feel a little more glamorous with such a plain application of overall color.
7. Finally if you are combonation or oily skin, you may light dust your t-zone with a loose or pressed powder to ensure that shine will be at a minimum. You can also blend a little bit of your pressed powder on your brow bone if you like that contoured finish. Pressed powder will leave a natural matte highlight rather than a shimmery or glittery finish from your eyeshadow palette highlighters.
If your new to makeup application this may take slightly longer than 5 minutes but with practice you can shave of additional time.
Now go play, practice and have fun!
